Geothermal heating is the use of the earth’s geothermal energy for heating applications. Most geothermal energy is extracted from areas around tectonic plates where volcanic activity rises close to the surface. In these areas, the ground and groundwater are typically higher than the target temperature of the application. This makes them prime areas for geothermal heating services. There are also countless benefits of geothermal energy such as:

• Renewable: Geothermal energy is limitless until the Earth no longer exists. The hot areas of the Earth are regularly and naturally replenished, making it sustainable and renewable.

• No Fuel Needed: It is a naturally occurring heat source. There is no need for a fuel element such as coal or natural gas to be used. The geothermal energy simply needs to be harvested using a heat pump.

• Environmentally Friendly: There is no burning of fossil fuels or omitting carbon dioxide into the environment with geothermal energy. It is a clean energy source.
