Geothermal Heating 101

Environmentally friendly, renewable energy sources are becoming more mainstream than ever before. We currently rely on a lot of fossil fuels that are finite in supply, and they pollute the environment upon using them. This is not a sustainable or healthy practice. It is also not cost-effective in the long term. The technology that allows us to tap into renewable energy has been rapidly evolving allowing more of us to harness its potential. One renewable energy source that anyone can tap into is geothermal energy. Geothermal heating is a way to heat your property using the naturally occurring steam and hot water that can be found below the surface of the earth.

It begins with drilling a well into the earth and harnessing the aforementioned steam and hot water. The hot water and steam are drawn to the surface and are used to generate electricity, which is then used to heat and cool your property. Geothermal energy is reliable, regardless of weather conditions. It has also proven to last a long time with geothermal power plants around the world still running after 50+ years.
